HIROSHIMA REVISITED: IT WAS THE CURE NOT THE DISEASE

Over 60 years have gone by since the power of nuclear energy was employed to bring a great cataclysm to a rather speedy conclusion, and still self righteous and ill-informed critics argue that our use of such a force was a violation of some unstated moral code “theirs! I have always had a limited regard for bleeding-heart thinking, finding it possessed of not only so little reason, but frighteningly harmful to our own best interests. Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as I have frequently observed, saved far more lives than they took.

What triggered my current reaction to this bit of left-wing insanity was a column in frontpagemag.com, dated 8/27/07 by David Forsmark, entitled First Into Nagasaki, going over once again the idiotic reactions of some—particularly Walter Kronkite (one of the most over-rated minds of the 20th century)—to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. How could we have done it? Isn’t the only relevant question how could we have not done it? Permit me to quote from Mr. Forsmark’s column - paraphrasing just won’t do:
