Rarely are you fortunate enough to be in the presence of one of the best minds of this century or any other. I’ve been around a long time, and, during that time, it has been my good fortune to be in the company of the best and the brightest throughout most of my life - none measures up to Milton Friedman, whose company I only briefly experienced. But it was long enough to convince me of the power of his gift. I had for some time prior to that occasion been aware of his incredible contribution to the field of politics, in general, and economics, in particular, his even greater contribution to the cause of freedom, and of America’s good fortune in counting him as one of its number.
