ED KLEIN ON HILLARY CLINTON

ED KLEIN ON HILLARY CLINTON -“

A MUST READ BOOK

I’m sure that by now almost all of you have heard of the new biography on Hillary Clinton by Ed Klein. It’s entitled The Truth About Hillary—What She Knew, When She Knew It, and How Far She’ll go to Become President.

And it is, in every sense of the word, a blockbuster. I have read at least a dozen Hillary Clinton biographies, and they were all quite good (by the way, most were by women, e.g. Peggy Noonan, Barbara Olson, Laura Ingraham, Joyce Milton, etc.) As good as they were, however, this one is better. Klein puts Hillary under a microscope, and the image, while incredibly incisive, revealing, and accurate, isn’t very pretty. That’s probably why the Clinton spin machine has gone into overdrive in its effort to either block the author, a reputable writer, from appearing on any of the mainstream T.V.interview programs, or, in the alternative, discredit him and the book by trying to portray it as some form of tabloid journalism (in their words, a “cash for trash” undertaking). In point of fact, it is an extremely well written book, and it is an easy read (you can’t put it down once you start on it). Also, it is available in every book store (I recommend Costco where it is at its least expensive)

And that is the one that deals with the author’s having been informed (by an unnamed source) that Bill Clinton raped Hillary, making Hillary pregnant, a condition that Bill became apprised of by reading of it in a newspaper. The author explains this chapter (all of 2 and 1/2 pages) in the following manner (in response to a question by Kathryn Jean Lopez of National Review; the entire interview, which itself is worth reading, can be found in National Review online for June 20th):

Let’s set the record straight here. Actually, I don’t make that claim in the book.

I included the story about their 1979 trip to Bermuda because Hillary herself

brings it up and spins it in her own book as an example of their supposedly

romantic marriage. The point of the story is that my source, who was with the

Clintons in Bermuda and quoted Bill’s boastful remarks to me, was stunned

when Bill phoned him a few months later and told him he just learned of Hillary’s pregnancy by reading about it in the newspaper. Those who read the book

will see this is hardly a
